Memorial Sisli Hospital Research and Stroke Rehabilitation Unit
The Stroke Center at the Memorial Health Group is an integrated, multidisciplinary center comprising vascular neurologists, neurointensivists, interventional neurologists, stroke nurses, psychologist, neuropsychologist, speech and language therapist, physiotherapists, occupational therapist, research nurse and nurse coordinators and administered through a single financial center with unified governance and leadership.
In the Acute Stroke Unit 600 acute patients are admitted yearly % intravenous thrombolysis, % bridging or only endovascular procedures including thrombectomy, thromboaspiration, IA thrombolysis, stenting of carotid and other cervicocephalic or intraceanial arteries. 250 subacute stroke patients are admitted yearly to the Stroke Rehabilitation and Research Unit where the emphasis is mainly on early stroke rehabilitation.
Evidence based treatments and interventions are administered through critical clinical pathways and care maps and outcome is monitored by an institutional quality program which include Joint Commission International primary and comprehensive stroke center quality indicators.
